OEM Wheel Caps

If you've ever taken a good look at the wheels on your vehicle -- a car like Cadillac DeVille car, a GMC Sierra 1500 truck, a Buick Enclave SUV, or a van like Chevy Express 2500, or otherwise -- you've probably noticed some small, rather inconspicuous covers. They're your ride's wheel caps. You may know them alternatively as cap inserts or, more commonly, center caps.

Simplified, they're one of a couple types of hubcaps. The other kind is wheel covers, which are a little different. A wheel cover -- like one on a Ford E-350 commercial vehicle, a RAM 3500 pickup, or otherwise -- snaps or bolts onto the vehicle's wheel, and it covers the wheel's entire face. A wheel cap, on the other hand, only covers the middle of the wheel. A lot of cars, for instance, have them: Chrysler 200 and Dodge Challenger are a couple examples.

At any rate, wheel caps have two jobs. One job is to hide the center of a wheel hub, its lug nuts, and the wheel bearings. The other job is to keep dirt off and out of both the spindle nuts and the wheel bearings. For a lot of drivers, what's most important is that the caps offer a look that puts brand appreciation on proud display.

So, which wheel caps does your vehicle need? That depends on what brand and model it is, of course. The best choice, whether that ride's a new Lincoln MKX, an old Oldsmobile 98, or something in between, is the genuine article. OEM wheel caps not only showcase your brand's unique style. They also come compatible with what you drive right off the shelf, not to mention color-matched to it.
