The Ford Transit-250 is a cargo van introduced by Ford in the United States in 2011. Also known as the T-250, its origins can be traced back to the 1953 Ford FK 1000. For several decades, the Ford Transit lineup was exclusive to the European markets. By 2015, the first models of the Ford Transit lineup finally made it to North American markets.
The T-250 debuted along with the T-150, T-350, and the T-350 HD. Gas and diesel variants were both offered. Aside from these traditional powertrains, a mild hybrid option was also available, called the Transit EcoBlue. In 2022, Ford also introduced the E-Transit, an all-electric van.
With the 2024 Ford Transit-250, ten trim options are available. The base trim has a 130-inch wheelbase and is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 275 hp and 260 pound-feet of torque. The standard transmission is a 10-speed automatic. Max payload for the base T-250 is 4,085 pounds. If you need more carrying capacity, the 148-inch wheelbase T-350 HD is rated for a payload of 4,947 pounds. But that’s if you’re willing to spend $13,000 more. Standard features of the 2024 Ford Transit-250 include 16-inch silver steel wheels, a 4-inch multifunction display, 4-speaker audio with dual USB ports and Bluetooth, Dark Palazzo gray vinyl bucket seats with driver armrest, and three 12-volt DC outlets.
