2010s

The Cadillac STS is a midsize luxury sedan marketed by GM’s Cadillac division from the 2005 through 2011 model years. It succeeded the iconic Cadillac Seville, and also carries its name in the STS acronym that stands for “Seville Touring Sedan”. During its launch, it was offered only in rear-wheel drive (RWD) and featured a 4.6-liter V8 engine that produces 320 hp and 315 pound-feet of torque.

In 2012, the STS was replaced by the bigger Cadillac XTS. The 2011 Cadillac STS was the last of its kind and was available both in RWD and AWD. Trim options included the base, Luxury, and Premium. The V8 engine was dropped, with the STS being powered by a 302-hp V6 engine instead. For superior performance, the limited-edition Cadillac STS-V was offered until 2009 and came with a muscular 4.4-liter V8 that peaked at 469 hp and 439 pound-feet of torque.

Cadillac STS Standard Features

The Premium trim package offered the best features you can expect in a Cadillac. The 2011 Cadillac STS Premium RWD came with IntelliBeam HID headlights, a Bose 5.1 Studio surround sound system, genuine Sapele wood on the steering wheel, shift knob, and dash, and a performance cooling package. Leather seating was standard, with heating for the front and rear. Front seats were heated and ventilated. And under the cabin, carpet floor mats were included for both the front and rear.

Is the Cadillac STS Good on Gas?

For a midsize luxury car weighing almost 4,000 pounds, the 2011 Cadillac STS provided solid gas mileage at 18 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.
