OEM Spark Plugs

What Do Spark Plugs Do?

They start the "spark ignition" process. This process is how the engine starts the fuel and air inside it burning, and it's the way it produces power. How it works is simple. The ignition system generates electricity (the "spark"), and the plugs capture it.

When to Replace Spark Plugs

Usually, every 100,000 miles or so. That's because, after millions of ignitions, the plugs can start to go bad. For instance, their leads can start to corrode or widen, and they can stop conducting electricity as well. Because of that, the engine can start to misfire or shut down completely. At that point, you should change them.

The Average Cost of Spark Plug Replacement

That can run anywhere from just over $200 to about $260. Labor costs run $130 to $160 on average, and the plugs themselves can cost $75 to $100. It's worse if they break: that's when the costs really start to add up; breakage usually causes severe and expensive engine cylinder damage.

Don't worry, though. We carry cheap spark plugs, starting at just a few dollars, depending on the model you drive (e.g., for older Ford and Mercury vehicles). You can even get up to 35% off MSRP on top of that, and you'll save even more replacing them yourself versus taking your car to a mechanic. Most importantly, though, our spark plugs are genuine OEM, and you can buy them here online.

Why Buy Genuine Spark Plugs?

They're manufacturer-quality, they'll fit and work like the ones you're changing, and most carry a warranty. That's peace of mind you may not get from aftermarket spark plugs.
